In my studio project, I delve into the emotional complexities stemming from my turbulent relationship with my mother, aiming to evoke in my audience the palpable intimacy and tension of separation. Having navigated the aftermath of my parents' divorce, the suffocating protection of a single mother, and the mental toll inflicted by family dynamics, my work explores the intricate interplay of love amidst familial struggles. Amidst the creation process, I grappled with the fear surrounding my mother, as the intensity of love intertwined with the challenge of acknowledging true sentiments.
Consequently, my art embodies the agony of love through an immersive interior space, inviting the audience to physically experience and connect with their own interpersonal narratives. Utilizing wooden materials, I construct installations that encapsulate a delicate balance between humility and privacy, juxtaposed with a sense of being overwhelmed and oppressed. Through this exploration, my aim is to prompt contemplation on the universal themes of love, conflict, and familial bonds.
